History of ManGo Associates
  • Company founded in February 2006 by 3 partners to ‘focus on something’ as the partners believe that as competition intensifies and the overall market matures, a clear focus is necessary for any search firm to survive and then flourish in the China market. Company had a total of 6 people and not a very clear idea of what to focus on.
  • After 6 months of unsuccessful ventures to focus on a few industries and then a few functions, ManGo Associates started to favor the idea of focusing all of its resources on the Finance & HR functions in early August 2006
  • The result of our first marketing campaign that month was much better than expected. The small team was immediately heavily engaged in trying to deliver results. By end of September 2006, every consultant had successfully completed at least one case in the new focused area.
  • At the beginning of October 2006, the first quarterly sales quota was allocated to each consultant. By end of that quarter, or end of 2006, everyone delivered more than the quota required. As a result, company’s strategic direction took root in the team. By then, the company’s core team remained the same group of people, other than a few more junior researchers recruited from campus.
  • As early as April 2006, the company has launched its proprietary data base and work flow management system. By end of 2006, everyone in the company has found the system helpful in their daily work.
  • The first 6 months of 2007 saw the company billing more than the entire 2006. It was then the company decided to expand its team, building on the initial success of the model. On 8th
